Our auditory health services

At Audex, we specialize in treating auditory symptoms, such as tinnitus (ringing in the ears), hyperacusis (sound sensitivity), misophonia, and ear-related dizziness, including Meniere’s disease and vestibular migraine.

We offer services provided by professionals specialized in auditory health, including a psychologist and an audiologist, otorhinolaryngologist (ENT specialist). These services are aimed at individuals suffering from auditory symptoms, such as tinnitus, sound sensitivity, hearing loss, and ear-related balance disorders.

Our areas of expertise:

  • Tinnitus
  • Hyperacusis
  • Misophonia
  • Ear-related dizziness
  • Hearing loss

We have extensive experience in helping patients with bothersome auditory symptoms and ear-related balance disorders. Our approach ensures patients receive comprehensive care, insight into their symptoms, and guidance for any necessary follow-up treatments.

We provide a specialised rehabilitation programme based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for management of misophonia, tinnitus and hyperacusis. According to strong research evidence (American Academy of Audiology, 2014), this program is the most effective treatment for bothersome tinnitus.

Psychologist services

During a psychologist consultation, patients receive information and guidance on managing tinnitus and sound sensitivity.

The psychologist will assess the need for further treatment during the first visit. When needed and considered to be helpful, a structured and specialised treatment programme based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for management of tinnitus, hyperacusis or misophonia is recommended.

The treatment programme includes a clear plan provided to the patient beforehand and a final report after the treatment.

Audiologist and ENT specialist services

If a patient experiences tinnitus, sound sensitivity, or hearing challenges with or without hearing aids, they can book a 60-minute remote consultation with Audex’s audiologist and ENT specialist. Similarly, if the patient experiences suspected ear-related dizziness with an unclear diagnosis or persistent bothersome symptoms despite treatment, a consultation can be arranged.

Through our secure video consultations, we can treat patients anywhere in Finland. Studies have shown that the benefits of remote consultations for auditory symptoms are equal to those of in-person visits.
